Give both suppliers the same case
Write the number country and type, current provider, people answering, required devices, usual destinations and essential fallback. Ask each supplier to confirm what can be supported in writing. Do not score an unconfirmed requirement as a yes. Compare an actual proposed CloudTalk plan with an actual Zoom Phone plan, not one vendor’s cheapest headline against another’s full bundle.
Portability is a separate answer
Both suppliers describe coordinated porting processes, and Zoom’s numbering policy makes clear that timeframes are not fixed deadlines. Ask who owns document corrections, how a date is confirmed and what remains outside the transfer. A meeting account or existing vendor relationship does not itself prove phone-service eligibility.
Compare operations after the move
Use the same route rehearsal: open hours, nobody available, after hours and a message awaiting a human response. Include administrator cover and a later exit. Compare ongoing operating effort as well as subscriptions. We do not declare either vendor universally better; a matched requirement may rule one out before price becomes decisive.
A fictional decision
A consultancy already uses Zoom meetings but needs a specific inbound-group fallback. Familiarity reduces one kind of training, not every telephone risk. It obtains both proposals, marks unsupported answers unknown and keeps the incumbent in the comparison. If neither proposal verifies the essential number, it postpones the switch.
Use an evidence column, not star ratings
Create a comparison with rows for the exact number, answering group, no-answer route, devices, administrator cover, committed price and exit process. Give each supplier two columns: proposed answer and evidence reference. Use confirmed, excluded or unresolved rather than assigning invented scores. An unresolved essential should remain visible even when the other supplier has a more attractive price. Check that both quotes describe the same number of people and the same billing period before comparing totals. Where one answer depends on another subscription, show that dependency beside it. Finish with the condition that would change your preference. This approach produces a decision someone else can review instead of a feature tally whose weights conceal the reader's real priorities.
What this comparison can—and cannot—settle
This guide draws on CloudTalk current pricing, Zoom Phone numbering policy, CloudTalk porting requests. Merchant-controlled records describe the provider’s own capabilities, terms or standards; they do not independently validate those claims. These records do not establish independent confirmation of the product claims.
Verify any current price, plan limit, label direction, compatibility rule, or commercial term that would materially change the decision. The dated source ledger shows the underlying records so this conclusion can be checked and updated.
